Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 in the Olympic contest. Bela Karrolyi, a Romanian gymnastics instructor, who later became the coach for Comaneci, first discovered Comaneci aged six. Comaneci competed for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships and finished 13th. Following that, she became champion. In 1972, at a meet of communist countries juniors before the Olympics, she won three gold medals. Then in 1973 and '74 she was the junior champion in all aspects. At her first competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion winning four gold and one silver medal. The first female ever to perform a backwards double salto after dismounting from an unbalanced parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens, Carol Wayne began working in the entertainment field by performing in the form of a figure skater. Along with her brother Nina Wayne she was part of the traveling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her professional career as an entertainer in her teens. At the age of a girl, she began performing as the figure skater alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. The show featured stage-moving ice-skating shows.
